Just came across your sub stack not sure how. But I very much appreciate the work you're doing. So few art historians or artists are doing this important connect-the-dots work.
Thanks! This started out as my MFA thesis project. An artist who was a big influence on me is William Powhida; you might find his work interesting if you are not already familiar with it.
It has less to do with the specific members and more about how the board acts as a whole to give value to certain kinds of art. Most of these people are collectors and a lot of them collect art by artists in the museum. So they theoretically can increase the values of their collections via musem aquisitions, and it is probable they are not paying much taxes on their art. Tax avoidence by the rich has trickle down effects. They also contribute to deciding what types of art get discussed in popular media etc. The effects they have on us aren't always direct, but all these finance bros love Jeff Koons and I am holding them personally responsible for the endless parade of ballon animals coming out of his studio. That's the real crime here. (hahahahaha)

Great work
Thanks!
Well done!
Fascinating info and impressive research. No immediate bearing on my life as far as I can tell.
